James Hayter Barter, who came boforo him for tho embezzling of goods valued at £3,' ho thought tho offonoo was more serious still. Not only was ho implicated with tho others, but ho 'had committed a very gravo breach of his responsible duty and trust as an officer. Guest and Korrick would bo ordered to forfeit out of their wages a sum equivalent to the loss sustained, and in audition each of thorn would bo sentenced to six months' imprisonment, with hard labour, in Duncdm Prison. Barter, also; would bo ordered to forfeit the amount of tho loss sustained, and to undergo nine months' imprisonment, with hard labour, in Dunodin Prison.
