PROFESSOR JAMBS. Pr««s Aijociii.oii—By Telegraph—Copyiijlil NEW YORK, August 28. The death is announced of' Professor William James, professor of philosophy at Harvard University; aged 68 years. Professor Jajjies was born at Now York, and was educated at various private schools. After graduating JI.D. at Harvard he speedily became eminent, and held a. number of educational positions, among them being that of Gifford lecturer at Edinburgh and Hibbcrt lccturer at Oxford. lie was the author of many publications, among which may be enumerated " Principles of Psychology." "Tho Will to Beliere." "Human Immortality," "Pragmatism: A New Name for Some Old Ways of Thinking," and "The Meaning of Truth," the last-named being published last year.
