LONDON, July 29. (Received July 29, at 10.35 p.m.) ' In replying to Mr W. Redmond in the House of Commons Colonel Seely quoted ■a special detailed statement wherein Sir George Reid showed that -a proportion of the Australian debt was invested in reproductive Works. He added, in reply to a question as to whether Australia took tho lead, that it was difficult and possibly invidious to oomparo the debts of different parts of the Empire from the standpoint of r-eproductiveneas, but tried by this test Australia in any case should stand very high,

Colonel Seely added, in reply to Sir Clement Kinloeh-Cooke, that the bulk of tile £3,250,000 which Australia had exifended on immigration was spent on emigration from the Motherland.
