HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
The fortnightly meeting ol the Otago Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was hold last evening, and was * atter<lc<l by Messrs J. 11. Walker (chairman), W. E.. S. Knight. H, M. Driver, Walter Blrtekie, 11. M. Ewing, D. Larnach, J. j. Clark, J. 11. F. Hamel, W. Talboys, .J. Loudon, S. S. Myers, R.. Temploton, and C. E. ICeaat. Mt Wilkinson apologised for absent®. Dr Falconer (medical superintendent) was also present. Tho reports of the Works, Benevolent, Sanatorium, ami Finahoe Committees were adopted without comment.
Mr Loudon moved that the Hospital Commitee's report bo adopted. He referred' to the proposal that 121, per cent. of the Hospital beds bo assigned to- the junior honorary mcdical officers, such arrangement to hold good until December 31, MO. This proposal came from tho Hon. medical staff. It was a new departure, caused by the necessity to have competent understudies to take up positions on tlio honorary medical staff, and the object of the proposal was to give the young -medical men- means of becoming acquainted with tho work.—The report was adopted.
