DUNEDIN AND SUBURBAN MONEY CLUB.
The fifth annual meeting of the Duncdin and Suburban Money Club was held Ir J « J?" sl1 ilitclle,l ' s offico last evening. Mr «• Farrant (president) was in the chair, and there was a gopd atlcndatico. The Chairman, in.moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, complimented tlie members on the continued success of ilit, club, and urged upon them the' necessity of bringing its usefulness and good 'work befor'o the public and their friends. He a.lso stated that a dividend of 8d in flic pound had been paid eiich half-year on members' subscriptions, which Was a ijood investment. A substantial reserve had also been built up to provide against possible losses. In the five years since its inception the club had lent" £22,131. Reference was also wade to tho loss sustained by tho club in the appointment of its first solicitor, Mr J. G. L. Hewitt, as stipendiary magistrate at Hokitika. . ■
The report and balance sheet, were unanimously adopted, members' expressing satisfaction with tho results shown. ,
Messrs R. Farrant, C. Stokes, and J. S. Hislop were re-elected trustees, and Mr F, 1\ Anderson members'-auditor.
