Mr Winston ChuTchilli (Home' Secretary) discussed'with the representatives of the Auiners' Association prospective legislation to establish a rescue station, .and that every consideration be given to mines .making provision for supplying adequate rescue apparatus. The representatives' referred to Mi' Keir Hardie's speech relating to the Whitehaven disaster. Mr Churchill sai'd that Mr Hardie's statement and the story were cruel and disgraceful. He greatly regretted that a member of the House of Commons should have uttered 1 suoh a cruel aspersion. MR HARDIE'S STATEMENT. ALLEGED DEFECTS IN THE MINE. LONDON, June. 10.
