DUNEDIN CLUB. ; Tho eleventh annual meeting of the Dunodin Harriers was hold last evening at Kroon's Tea Rooms. There were somo 20 members present. Mr 11. C. Murray, captain of tho olub, was voted to the chair, but vacated later in favour o£ Mr 11. J. Jackson, The Chairman, in moving tho adoption of tho annual report and balance sncet, congratulated tho club on a very successful season. Tho balance sheet was particularly satisfactory. Tho attendances at tile club runs had been extraordinarily large, and the fact that tliero had been an average attendance of 24 spoke volumes for the enthusiasm of the members. In Mr Murray tho club had a captain of whom they had every reason to bo proud. 110 congratulated the club on wielding such an iiiduenco to rotain such a captain as Mr Murray, wlio had been an active participant in club management for tho past seven years. ' Tlio club, too, was indebted to tho secretary, who had been indefatigable in his work. The Chairman also congratulated tho prize-winners, not-alone because'they were prize-winners, but because tboy linil received such training in the club as placed them in tho front rank. The Chairman took tho opportunity of congratulating tho Otago Ccntro on its enthusiasm and enterprise in despatching a team to Auckland for tho New Zealand championship meeting, and particularly Congratulated tiio Caversliam Harriers on producing in Mr Beatson the three-mile champion of Now Zealand, whose success lie felt was dud in a great measure to his early training as a harrier. Mr Murray also congratulated the club on a successful .season and tho satisfactory balance sheet. ' Tho credit balance was the best tho club had shown since its existence. The position which tho club had Attained was envied by other clubs, and this was duo to tho enthusiasm of the members, tho committee, and lo tho energetic secretary (Mr N. Anderson). He Tioped to see a very largo membership during the coining season, nmHrusted that, the present members would induce as many now 3-tlnneis to join as possible. Mr Murray particularly thanked Mr Anderson

(the secretary) for his services, and Mr West, tho treasurer. Ho regretted that' Mr Anderson found it necessary to retire from offico this season, but hoped that his successor would follow in his predecessor's footsteps. . The report and balance sheet wero .adopted.

PACIFIC CLUB. i Tlio first nhnu.il general meeting of the club was held last evening in the Oddfollows' Hall, South Dunodin. There wero about 20 member* presont, and Mr W. J. Lovo (president) occupicd the chair.. Apologies were received from Messrs T. K. Sidoy, M.l'., D. J. Colder, J. It. Wilson. Tho secretary rend tlio report and balance sheet, n summary o£ which is as follows:— The club held its official opening run on April 24 from the residence of its patron, Mr 'I'. K. Sidoy, 11 members being present, and its, olosing run on October 2, as the guests of its president, Mr W. J. Love, I(Oith street. At this run thero was ail attendance of 15 members—a record for the season. The membership of the club stands as follows:—Active, 19; honorary. 5; lion, officials, 6;— total, 30. During tlio season 22 runs and races wove hold, the average attendance being 12. _ Tim Inter-club Crosscountry Championship Teams' Race was held at Wingalui on -the 14lh August Tho club was represented by Messrs J. A. Bond, H. Clark, J. Nidoll, E. Grey, and J. Arnold, and they succecded in securing .with 108 points seventh place jut of 10 teams competing. The alhlotic oarnival and art union was hold under the auspices of the Otasjo .Ccntro N.Z.A.A.A. at tlio Garrison Hall during ll\o mouth of Oune, and at which the club, along with tlio Dunedin and I'ort Chalmers Clubs, bad one of tho work, stalls. Tlio'club's thank's are due to thoso who kindly made articles for tho stall, and to the ladies who actively assisted at tho still. Tlio fifth annual report, to bo submitted at the annual general meeting says: Tl|e .committoo desires to placc on record ono of the most successful seasons in tho club s history; This is vary largely accounted for by the keen interest displayed by the club iiiombars during tho season, and the committoo looks forward with confidence tc tho coming sciisou, and foils sure that members will strive to maintain the splendid position which the club nt presont occupies. Nineteen runs were hold during the year from various places. The average attendance was 25—a big improvement- on last year,—and ono the club has every reason to bo proud of. These woto well contested, and were the means of enabling tho Selection Committee to select the best team for tho intcrclub events. In open events tho club has been most successful, having: won tho Edmorid Cup (for the second time) and tho shield presented to the winners of tho South Canterbury cross-coun-try championship, besides finishing second in •ho Otago intcrclub championship. Coming to individual performances, club members are t/> be congratulated on the prominent positions they occupied in the various ?v«nts. Club members filled first and second places in the lSdmond Cup, first in the Otago intcrclub championship, sccond in tho New Zealand cross-country championship, first, second, third, and fastest time in tho Road Race at the Labour Da.v sports, first in Port Road Race, first in tlio One and Two-mile Races at Civil Service Club sports, first in Civil Service Ton-mile Handicap (also fastest, time). At tho D.A.A.C. evening sports meetings several wins and placcs were also secured. At the Australasian championships, held at Brisbane, we were represented by 0. M'lvmght, who, though unsuccessful in winning championship honours filled a prominent, position. Chambers, who often sacrificed their own interests in their endeavours to win events for the clnb.
