i The fourth annual meeting; of the '• Hockey Chili was held in the t Association Dooms on Wednesday last,, there being a fair attendance. The general 0 secretary (Mr Hughes) was voted to tlio chair, il was decided to put three learns ' iu_ the field this year. The election of oilice-lK'arers resulted as tollowsl,'rrsidont, .Mr 'J'. 'Sullivan; secretary. Mr ]!. . Jones (elected pro. lem.); delegates to the ) centre. Messrs DiUtner and .lonef. There is to be ;i practice at an early date, when v meiiibors will be notified. The following- is the annual , report Owing to Hime misiir.derstand- / ing on the part of I lie ground officials. the club had difficulty in holding lite members at the start of the practif.es. However, before the matches were commenced men , offered, and we were able lo pur two teams into the Second Grade competition. Considerable trouble was experiencc-d in scour- " iug grounds for the matches, but a good ground was eventually securcd at l'orbnry Park. The lack of combined practice s seems to bo the drawback to the success . of iho club. 'If only members would practise more, then more goals would be regis--5 icred. We were fortunate in registering i- a fair percentage of goals, and in lite final's were runners-up for first place. The In- ' vercargill Y.Jl.l'.A. team paid the annual li visit to Dunedin lo play for the cup pre- ,, sented by Mr M'llruer. aivl after a kixli ° contest the visitors won by 6 goals lo i. ; - The prospects for our Hockey Club were never brighter. Several good men are . offering for the ensuing season. Owing to the fact, that only two leams were put in •• the field the Mibfcriptions were heavier , than was anticipated. However, this will 1 be reduced next session.
