DEATH OF BERTRAM ARMYTAGE
VERDICT OF SUICIDE. SEQUEL TO DISAPPOINTMENT Pres3 Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, March 17. (Received March 17, at 10.30 p.m.) At the inquest on the body of Bertram Armytago the coroner perused a letter which -had been left by the deceased addressed; to the secretary of tho Melbourne Club. The deceased referred to his disappointment at not receiving an appointment in the "War Office, which he was anxious to secure, and the Test of the letter referred to the disposal of his eftccts, which showed that lie contemplated suicide.
The coroner remarked that Mr Armytago was in the prime of life and had everything he could desire—youth, wealth, and health,—but just one thing which he wanted lie could not get-, and this drove him to self-murder.
. Tho coroner returned a verdict ol suicide, adding that there was nothing to show the state of the deceased's mind at the time.
