FOOTBALLERS ACCIDENT FUND.

The annual meeting of delegates connected with the Footballers' Accident Reserve Fund was held last evoninE in Jlr E. S. Wilson's rooms, Empire Buildings, Mr J. King presiding. , Tho Chairman moved the adoption ol tho report (already published) and balance ■sheet, and said thoro was' very little no could add to what the report contained. One thing they would have to devise was some scheme to make the fund more selfsupporting than it now was. Last years committeo had been very careful in carrying out its duties in connection with the fund, and had seen that thoro was no loitering on it. Cases had come before them that thev could not deal with owing to some secretaries not having handed ill the monevs they had received, and there wore two "cases of hardship in consequence. The number of'players insuring last year was some 30 odd less than previously. Players did not take tho interest in the fund they'should. Mr Low seconded the motion tor the adoption of tho repott and balance sheet, and referred to the conscientioiu way tho committee had discharged its duties. They had had a very bad year in regard to expense, and they would, as the chairman had said, have to take some very extreme measures to mako the fund moro selfsupporting. Perhaps that could be effected by reducing the benefits to be recoived. The report and balance Bheec were adopted. A discussion followed as to adjusting the benefits and the subscriptions, and it was moved that in Class 1 the subscription bo 5s and the benefit 25s a week, and in Class 2 tho subscription be 3s and the benefit 20s a week; Class 3 to remain as it was. This was carried, an amendment that in the caso of Class 2 tho subscription bo 3s and the benefit 15s being lost. The question,of whether a man off work owing to accident but who was receiving his wages shcmld participate in the benefits the fund was ventilated, and it was pointed put that if he was debarred txom.

participating bo would not join the fund at all. The remaining rules were adopted prac T tically without alteration. The following gentlemen wero appointed a committee:—Messrs A. Low, R. Al'Kenzie, J. Kennedy, J. King, J. M'Combie, and H. Findiay.
