Fivo Newcastle mines are still idle, pending a settlement of minor troubles, Tho Seamen's Union during the coal and coastal" strikes paid away'£ll,soo to their members who wero out' of work, in addition to £66 paid to other unions. (Received March 16, at 0.50 a.m.) All the northern collieries with the exception of the Helton mine are at work. At tho He'tton colliery work will be resumed to-morrow. The fleet of vessels awaiting coal is now being moved under the cranes.
