SHOOTING TRAGEDIES
Press Asßocialion—By Telegraph—Copyright. COLD-BLOODED MURDER, A BARMAID KILLED. SYDNEY, March 15. (Received March 15, at 10 p.m.) A barmaid named Stark who was employed at the Cafe Italien, in Bond street, was shot dead this afternoon. A man calling himself Walter Lovett entered tho bar and fired shot after shot, and the woman 1011, bleeding from several wounds. Lovett then turned the revolver on himself, and inflicted a minor wound. Stark died almost immediately, exclaiming, " Look after my girl." • Lovett told tho proprietor on Saturday that "Stark was his wife. (Received March 16, at 0.1 a.m.) Stark had her left eye completely blown out, two terrible wounds on her head, and two others on' her body. The murderer stated that he was a commercial traveller. He had been drinking heavily.
BROTHER AND SISTER FOUND DEAD. PERTH, March 15. A brother and sister named Noalk, aged respectively eight and twelve, were found dead in a paddock, each with a bullet in the forehead. A broken pea rifle that the boy had been carrying was near. It is surmised that tho boy shot his sister accidentally, and then took his own life in remorse.
