(Heceived March 8, at 10.15 p.m.) Mr Lewis Hareourt (First Commissioner of Works) stated in tho Houso of Commons that ho anticipated that the Queen Victoria Memorial ivould be completed within a year. This was an unexampled rate of progress for a work of each. magnitude.

The. lower portion of Brook'e Memorial was unveiled in May last. The memorial includes 1000 tons of Carrara marble and 800 tons of granite. The statue of tho late Queen was then completed; also groups signifying Motherhood, Justice, and Truth.
