A WANGANUI SENSATION.
{Per Ukited Pansa Asßocrmotr.) WANGANUI, March 2. An attempt was made -to, destroy the Upokongaro Hotel last night, gelignite being exploded on the roadway in front of tlis hotel. Every window was smashed, but otherwise no damage - was done. The explosion was heard a mile away. The police suspect that the outrage was
committed by a Mexican named Laurent, who is supposed to have committed suicide in the river, lis coat and vest having been found near the ferry boat on the river bank opposite the -hotel. The police are now dragging for the body,
