o SPLENDID SHOOTING. (Pr.a United Vkess Association,) LYTTELTON, December 9. The Lyttelton Naral Artillery did fine work at a competitive firing ora-ctice this morning. Out of 10 rounds from the six and eight-inch guns only one missed. A remarkable performance was made with the six-pounder quick-firer. Twenty shots were fired and 18 hits registered, and the series occupied only 49sec. This is regarded as a record for New Zealand for' speed.
