BREAKING-UP CEREMONY. . Iho S-t. Kilda Kindergarten class held its brcaking-up ceremony in the St. ICilda i'own Hall yesterday afternoon, when flioro was a very krgc attenuanoo of jjawnts and others. Ho thoug-ht that might Im taken 35 an expression of appreciation of the parents of St. Kilda 01 tho work carried out by Miss liare, tho principal of the kindergarten.—(Applanetl.) Mr M'i'arlane had, unfortunately, not sufficiently recovered from Ms rcoent illness to attend. On ;i largo table in Uie hall were 6amples of iho younjf people's work, and this was remarkably good when the ago of t.hd pupils i« taken into account. A delightful programme was sub- I niittcd by tlio children, inoluding flower tonga and quaint nursery ballads, hut t! w most enjoyable item was undoubtedly the »ag drill of tlio senior girls. During the afternoon tho Chairman I pi'Kcaited Miss Httro with a gold neck.lot (•n tehalf of tho parents, and a silver toilet kble set a.s a mark of the ali'ection ot tlio senior girls. Miss Hare feelingly responded. Afterncon tea >vas served in an ante* room. BigI gins; basket-weaving, Tditli Violet Sykes. Special prize for tho most diligent aik. popular boy in the solicol, Jack Stenliouse. A 6ilvcr medal which had been awarded by an anonymous douor to Kingsley B. ilarehall for singing was also presented. A uumbei' of other prizes a.«d toys were presented lo the little scholars, and the year's work for them was over.
