NEW ZEALAND ATHLETIC UNION.
OTAGO CENTRE., The Otago Centro of the N.Z.A.U. met as usual last evening. Mr A. Gordon Fenwiok occupied the chair, and there was a fair attendance of delegates. The following .permits were granted:— Oamarn Caledonian Society, January 1 and 2, 1910; Berwick Caledonian Societr, January 1 1910; Clutha Caledonian "(society, December 27 j Tuapeia Caledonian Society December 27; Ratanui Caledonian Society! December 29. In response to a letter from the secretary of the Joe Scott Memorial Fund, it was decided to vote £1 Is to the fund. The Secretary of the Clutha Caledonian Society wrote enclosing list of defaulters.— Received; names to be forwarded to the union, to be placed on the defaulters' list. The Secretary of (he Clutha Caledonian Society wroto asking if it was jieceseary for competitors in sawing and chopping events to be registered to compete under the union's rules—Left in the hands of the secretary. The Brighton and Clutha. Caledonian Societies wrote in reply to the centre's letters stating that they regretted they vtou*£ not bo able to affiliate with the union this year.—Received with regret. 11l reply to a letter from tho Qucenstown Caledonian Society it was decided to write to the society informing it that it 'must affiliate by 18th inst,, or its meeting would bo an unregistered one. Tho secretary was instructed to write to four country Caledonian secretaries in tho matter of affiliation to the union. Various gentlemen were appointed to represent the union at tho different sports meetings. The bank book showed a credit balance of £39 lis lOd.
