'5, at 5.5 p.m.) Violent gales have been prevailing on t'lis British coasts. Tins staamer Thistlemor blew up and foundered with a crew of 30 off Clovelly. Four ol the bodies have been washed ashore. The steamer Ellanvannin. running from the Wo of Man for Liverpool, foundered on the Mersey bar. Twenty-one of the crew and 12 of the paFsengors were drowned.. Much damage has been done inland.
