BAD LIGHTING ARRANGEMENTS.

'.KELSON, November 18. Owing lo the light on Jackson's Haul being out of condition (;i mutter which has besn frequently complained of by chinwastcrs), the 'Maptina, at 2.30 this morning, grazed Walker's Keef on the port side. The weather was very thick, and the vessel was going dead Jow, stopping several tunes. In turning slto just grazed the rock, but no damage wis done, and she proceeded on her jouW'v. and reached Nelson according to tims-lable. She re.sumed her voyage after her cargo and passengers. WELLINGTON, November 18. In the House of Representatives last evening Mr Graham, referring to the Takapuna having grazed Walker's Beef, asked whether anything would bo done to prevent the light at Jackson's Head being extinguished so frequently as it had been of late and to provide better lighting arrangements.

Air Fowids said that the matter would be brought before tne Minister ol Marine, who was absent from home at the time.
