VOLUNTEERS.

BATTALION PARADE. The usual monthly parade- of the First Battalion Otajo Rifle Volunteers was held on J. Imrsday overalls*, Major Washer ii.< command. As tho Asylum Ground was not in a suitable condition for parade purposes Uio battalion was exorcised on tho vacant ground m front of the Railway Station, various battalion formations wore practised, and the muster whs a distinct improvement uiwn former parades. Tho following was the .parade state:Staff.—One major, 1 adjutant, 1 quartermaster, 1 staff sergeant-major;—total. 4 A Company.—Two officers, 45 rank and file:—total, 47. C. Company.-One offiosr, 31 rank and file;—total, 32. E Company-Three officers, 34 rank and file: —total, 37. F Company.—One officer. O Company.—Three officers, 21 rank and fib;-total, 24. II Company.-Two officers, 34 rank and file;—total, 36. Battalion Baud—One pipe-major, 13 rank and file;—total, 14. Total paTade state—Seventeen officei*, 178 rank and file.
