DUNEDIN AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Dunedin 'Amateur Athletic Club was held in tho Chamber of Commerce room on Thursday. Mr W Maclean (president) occupied trio chair, and there wore about 20 members present. The annual report presented for the ECHSon 1908-9 was as .follows :— In submitting K!i6 twenty-fourth annual report and balance sheet your committee has pleasure in congratulating members upon having completed another successful season, 'foe statement oi accounts shows the club to be in a sound financial position, the total assets being £80 0s lid, whilst thero arc- no liabilities. The popular evening suthlotic meetings wcro continued during tho past neason, eight meetings in all being held. Tho special trophies awarded to members of the club _ securing rooet points throughout the series uf meetings wcro won as follows :—G. A. M'Knighb, fust; A. T. PHtaway, second; whilst a special trophy was awarded to R. F. Mitchell. M'Knighl's form throughout the evening meetings waa of a high order of ejccellonco, and !he well deserved his success. The twenty-third annual sports wero held on Saturday, February 20, and from an athletic point of view wero a Brest success, tho events being keenly contested, and the racing being watched witli much interest. The strong wind whioh blew with relentless fury throughout the afforiioon made matters somewhat unpleasant.for competitors, besides having a prejudicial effeol upon the attendance. The New Zealand Championships were held ot Dunedin. on Saturday, 20th March, the meeting being one of the finest athletic gatherings ever held in New Zealand.
