PORT CHALMERS v. H.M.S. ENCOUNTER.

A very friendly game of football was played at fort Chalmers yesterday afternoon between a team representing ihe Port Chalmers Club and a team from H.M.S. Kiieoiuiter, at present in Port. The game ended in a victory for the local team by 15 points to 5. For Ihe victors Kelly rotted a. goal,.and Dougherty, Amlersott, and M.'l'herson scored tries, one of which M'Phci.-oti converted. I'or the Encounter. Wilson (captain) scored a try, which was converlcd by Brown. The game was played in a fine spirit, throughout, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all the participant. ASSOCIATION. The match I.aidlaw and dray B v. Post and Telegraph 13 was played on the Northern Ground on Wednesday, and it very fast and interesting game resulted in a victory for I.aidlaw and dray by ?. goals to nil, Sinclair and Ryan scoring for Ihe winners. The game was ably controlled by Mr F„ Jbbotson.
