MILITARY AND NAVAL TOURNAMENT.
ENTHUSIASTIC PROPOSALS. (Per United Puess Association.) PALMERSTON N., July 19. A meeting representing all the Palmevston corps decided to-night to join the Manawatu Mounted Hi ties in the continuance of the highly successful military tournament that has grown to such large dimensions since it was started by the mounted corps. It was decided to call it the Royal New Zealand Military and Naval Tournament, and hold it 011 November 8 and. 9. The Commonwealth Defence Department is to be asked lo send a contingent over, also to send a judge. It .is expected that a large representation of the Permanent Forces will take part, and assurances of entries from corps all over New Zealand have been received. Last year's tourney was the largest yet held ill New Zealand, but it will he completely eclipsed this year.
