REVENUE RETURNS.

INCREASE FOR THE JUKE QUARTER. DECREASE FOR THE YEAR. WELLINGTON, July 7. The Hon. J. A. Millar (Acting Minister of Finance) stales that tho revenue for the quarter ended June 30 amounted to £1,826,597, showing a net increase of £34,678. as compared with the corresponding- quarter of last year. Railways were responsible for an increase of £92,328, and land and income tax £1063. Customs show a decrease of £38,085, stamps £22,598, and territorial revenue £20,368. For the year ended June 30 the revenue totalled £9,055,863, or £26,975 less than the revenue fur the year ended June, 1208. Among the increases railways represent £183,152, and land and income tax £90,151. The Customs returns for the year were less by £259,554, and territorial revenue was 'less by £94,113.
