Tho Minister of Education lias issued in a recent-Gazette the annual list of teachers holding eertilicates or licenses under "The Education Act, 1903." From this we iind that thoro aro in the Dominion 2899 fully-corti-ficatcd teachers classified from E5 to Al. Of these, 1549 aro males and 1550 females. There aro also seven with provisional eertilicates—viz., two males and live females,— and 69 with licenses—via., 25 males and 44 females. Quito a number of teachers have boon advanced in their classification status since last .Year. The following are tho names of those in Otago and Southland, or who havo been residents, but are now engaged under other Education Boards. Reasons for promotions are indicated by tho letter E for examination, M for marks, S for service.
