THE 'NASEBY BONSPEIE. (Fkoit Our Own Correspondent.) NASEBY, July 16. The annual curling bonspeil was brought to a most successful conclusion yesterday evening. During the day the ice becamea little more " drug" than tho first day, but some very keen contests took placesome of tho games having to be concluded after dusk, with the aid of matches, etc. The matches consist of 21 points, each club supplying two rinks. Tho third match was played yesterday morning and resulted as follows:— Naseby, 42 points , -. + Blackstone Hill, 42 points —, f Maniototo (Naseby), 41 points --. 3 Bough Ridge, 37 points 4 Mount Ida (Naseby), 35 points 5 Otago Central (Naseby), 21 points 6 Cambrians, 17 points .. . . 7 • The Maniototo Club has been formed this year, and its success was very popular on this account. A slight thaw set in last night, and there were only 4dog of frost this morning, so that curlers have every reason to congratulate themselves on the successful termination of the "sped." MASONIC. «» . Lodgo St. Andrew, No. 432, S.C., celebrated its forty-fourth annual -installation and investiture of officers on Tueeday evening in tho Masonic Had, Moray place. Tho function was witnessed by a large assemblage of members, visitors, and sojourning brethren. The ceremony of installing Bro. Arthur Jell's as Right. 'Worshipful Master for tho ensuing year, together with the officers of lesser rank, was performed by J}.\Y. Bro. James Gore, D.G.M., S.C., being assisted in that impressive and important function by tho District Grand' Lodge officers. The ceremony of investiture was performed by H.W.. Bro. M. Begg, D.D.G.M., S.C., the whole being under the direction of W. Bro. 11. 0. Carter, P.M., and W. Bro. G. Ritchie, P.M., Grand Director.; of Ceremonies. The incidental music was rendered by Lodge St. Andrew orchestra and choir under the able directorship of W. Bro. D. Cooke, Grand Director of Music. Tho ceremony was carried out in a most impressive manner, and at its conclusion the address to the R.W.M. was delivered by R.W. Bro. T. S. Graham, D.G.M., E.G.. R.W. Bro. I). Ccoko addressed the Wardens, and RAY. Bro. D. A. M'Nicoll, P.G.1., J.C., addressed the brethren. R.W. Bro. James Gore, on behalf of the officers and brethren of the lodge, presented Bro. D. ?v[. Blyth, 1.P.M., with a very handsome Past Master's jewel. The recipiontin a few well-cho&on remarks responded, thanking the lodge for its gift. At the conclusion of the lodge proceedings tho brethren) adjourned to the social hall, where a pleasant hour was spent in social enjoyment.
