WRIGHT, STEPHENSON, & CO. (LIMITED) have received instructions from J. B. Reid, Esq., Elderslie, Oamaru, to sell by auction as above— His well-known Stud of Clydesdale Horses, comprising: 40 pedigreed brood Mares and Fillies 8 fashionably-bred entire Colts. This famous Stud, now the largest and most important in tlte South Island of New Zealand, was founded by Mr John Reid in tho seventies. For many years the Elderslic-bred stock has been natcd for its successes at the- leading shows of Otago and Canterbury. It is .impossible io find in all Australasia, or indeed elsewhere, any purer or better strains of Clydesdale blood than flow in the veins of the Elderslie Stud. Mr J. B. Rekl, however, has decided to soil his Clydesdales and devote himself, as far as horses are concerned, to the further development of his already fa.nons Stud of Thoroughbreds. Every Horse comprised in tho catalogue is therefore to be offered and sold Io the highest bidder, and those in quest of the highest-class Clydesdale stock will have an opportunity of supplying their requirements such as has not been afforded them since the dispersal of Holmes's Awa Mai Stud in 1899.
