TO BE UI'ENKD UY HON. T. MACKENZIE. The monthly niecting of the committee, of the (Jtago A. and P. Society, held yesterday, was attended by Messrs W. .1. Charters (vice-president) in the chair, .1. Angus, \V. Sqtiter, W. Patrick, J. Ko?s, A. Johnson. .1. Gow, .1. London, .1. JJacandrew, J.' 11. Scott, J. H. Maiewan, G. H. Giboy, P. Preeman, T. Kitohio, and T. K. Jefcoate. Apologies were received from Messrs D. Murray, \V. Grey, t(. N'immo, J. Patrick. D. Andrew, and J. AV. Blair.
Tito Hon. T. Mackcnize telegraphed stating that it would give him great pleasure to open the winter show on the afternoon of Juno 1. The Minister of Agriculture iilso wired asking whether it would be possible for his department to show items of agricultural interest on a screenat tho winter show, if the department arranged to get the slides. —It was resolved lo refer the matter to the executive with the suggestion that an endeavour should be made to liiul a suitable position for the display, and if possible to find the space necessary for this interesting item. Mr W. Scott, secretary of the Ota-go Employers' Association, wroto regarding the holding of an " Industries tt'eck" during flic winter show, and slated that the limp-lovers' Awooiation would pay £10 10s towards the necessity expense-, provided the Oha-mber of Commerce and the A. and P. Society paid a like amount, and that each body should be represented by a. delegate.—lt. was lniajiimoitsly resoived that Mr Loudon be appointed n'delegate for tho A. and P. .Society, and that the necessary contribution bo given with a view of assisting in bringing oil' an effective display. Tlic Treasurer submitted the balance-sheet for the year ending April 30, which, after careful consideration, was found eminently satisfactory and adopted. Mr Charters was nominated for tilie poiiition of president for the ensuing year, and Mr Loudon was nominated for tho office of .vice-president. The election of otlicc-bearors; will tako plnre at tho society's annual meeting on June 2. The Secretary (Mr H. V. Pulton) reoprtcd that very satisfactory entries had been coming in and that every available inch of space Was lieiut; applied for.
