AUCKLAND, April 15. The man who was knocked down in Welleslcy slreeL by a tramcar last evening, ami who received injuries from which he died whilst being conveyed to the hospital, had in his pocket an old-age certificate in the inline of Murdoch It'Leod.

NAP TUB, April 15. An inquest was held this morning before Mr 11. W. Brabant (coronet 1 ) on the body of the late Claditis Walter Cato, who died yesterday as the result of a revolver shot. Constable Hodgson stated that-he searched tho clothing ot deceased and found two promissory notes, a telegram, and a memo, relating to money matters. The telegram was signed " Cooks," Auckland, and stated : " Hank wires your choline not provided for; l-eplv." The following verdict was returned—" That- the deceased died front the effects of a bullet wound, which wound traversed the brain and was inflicted by himself."

DANNEVIRKE, April 15. A man named Thomas Gebbie, aged 79, an old-age pensioner, fell dead in the street to-day. He complained »t internal pain'last evening, but was walking about, apparently all right. He expired before a doctor arrived. Death is attributed to syncope.
