Wilkii,'M,l'., secretary of tlio Shipwrights' Society, interviewed, said there was no objection to colonial artisans working on the Clyde if their object, was to learn, tlio building of warships. It would, of course, l>o mail} years before Australia, could compete with the Clyde, but the repair yards in the colonies AWJllld probably necessitate many skilled English, workmen going to Australia.
