ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A man named Maurice O'Gorman, 65 years, was admitted to the Hospital yesterday. He lived at Houipami, and had been working in a. ditch Bft" deep. The sides of the ditch collapsed, and a somewhat, heavy full of earth fell on top of O'Uorinau, who was so severely injured as to necessitate his removal to'Dunodhi in order that he might receive the necessary medical treatment.
The Wyndham Herald reports an extraordinary accident,. by which a bov named Erie Shaw, aged seven yea re, lost" his life, With some other boys, ho was on Wednesday afternoon attracted by a passing traction engine. They got on to Ihe pole of a dray attae'tied to the engine, and m getting olf the bov 'fell, the wheel of the dray passing over his body. He got up and walked away with the other boys, so that those in charge of the engine did not suspect that anything of so tragic a nature had occurred a 6 proved to be the case. The little fellow went home and told bis mother of what had occurred, adding that ho did not think any bones were broken. Dr Baird was called in. and be could ai. once see that the case was honeloss. There must have been some internal injury. Fortunately the hoy did not suffer great "pain. He lingered on till 1.30.
