CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The montblv meeting of the committee of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, held yesterday afternoon, was attended by Messrs M'Pherson (president), J. London, Crosby Atom's, ,1 Al. Uallavay, Thomas Lilondining, H. Salmon, C. R. Ritchie, .1. W. Henter, and Walter Gow. The Attorney-general wrote asking for suggestions from the chamber as to an amendment of the law of bankruptcy.—A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs Salmon, Denton, and Callaway, was appointed to consider the question and to report. A member wiote drawing attention to the ca-o of a creditor who had willed insurance momey to a brother, who had novui been resident in New' Zealand, toUhe exclusion of creditors in the Dominion, and asking that steps should be taken to have Ihe law on the subject amended. Thu uutier was referred to a sub-committee.
