CHRISTCHURCH SAMARITAN HOME.

PROSPECTIVE DEFICIT. (Per United Pp.ess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 1. At a meeting of the Samaritan Home Trustees to-day it was reported that the prospective deficit for the year ending on March 31 was £300. The chairman said he doubted whether the home (a separate institution) could be carried on unless some more satisfactory financial arrangements were made, it appeared that a mistake had been made in the annual requisition forwarded to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Boards last year, through which- mistake the Hospital Board's contribution was reduced by £100. In addition the £100 supposed to be contributed by the voluntary subscribers had not yet been collected, and there only remained the present month in which to collect il. A drnntation was appointed to wait on the chairman of the Hospital Board lo explain the position to him.
