DUNEDIN SPORTS CLUB.

A meeting of the Sports Committee of the Dunedm Sports Club was- Jield in the club-rooms on Saturday night. The Secretary reported that there was every probability of Richard Anist, the world's sculling champion, riding at the meeting on .March 13. provided sufficient, time intervened before his departure for hugland to row against Krnest Barry onl Hip Thames.

Tho .Secretary also reported that a, large number of local riders were in training on the Caledonian frank for tlie cycle races, and that several Christchurelt riders had already entered for the bicycle events.

Mr I). Corcoran, president of tho N.Z.A.U., forwarded an entrv from I). .Sanson, the North Island crack half-niife for Ihe three cash races on the programme, and expressed Ihe opinion that the meeting of Sanson and the local runner Chalmers over half a mile should provide a very interesting congest. A communication was received from Mr D. 'M'Kay, .lion. ' sec. Otago Centre N.Z.A.U., granting the club permission to run cash running events, and similar permission for tho cyclists was also forwarded from the Otago Centro League of Wheelmen.

Mr C. Harris, who has charge of the ticket department, forwarded a statement of the number of tickets -printed and already disposed of, and tho report was considered very satisfactory.

The secretary was instructed to try to make arrangements for an attack on tho New Zealand motor cycle record of lmin 24sec by a local motor cyclist—Mr -W. I'. >T. M'Culloch. Tho Secretary stated that Mr M'Culloch had already had a trial spin, but owing to tho low-powered engine he was riding had only been able to do a few seconds under 2min. Mr M'Culloch, however, was endeavouring to get a lngherpoworcd engine fitted to his machine, and! would then have one or two trial runs preparatorv to the attack on the record on March 13.

The secretary was instructed to make arrangements for the attendance at the sports of a band, the band to leave the Octagon at a little after 2 o'clock, marching thence to the Caledonian Ground.
