DUNEDIN COMPETITIONS SOCIETY.
A committee meeting of the Dunorlin Competitions Society was held at tlio secretary's otlice on Thursday evening; present —Mr T\ J. iitillmg (vice-president, in the chair), his Worship the Mayor, l'ev. Canon L'urMii-Siggcis, Dr ltobens, .Messrs A. 0. llanlon, 11. F. Moss, J. A. Park, and J. W. Smith. A|iologifls for absence were received iroui Mr S. Solomon, K.C., Messrs F. (J. Duncan, J. 11. Walker, T. W. Whitson, and W. Wills. The Secretary reported that the musio for the various competitions had been iinally selected, ami the orders had already Been sent Home. The music was expected to reach New Zealand about the end of March, Alter consideration of the names of several Australian elocution judges, it was resolved to appoint Mr J. Hewlett itas, of .Melbourne, as rhe elocution judge for this year's competitions. .Mr W. Arundel Orchard, of Sydney, was appointed the judge of instrumental music and vocal music, except tho soio work, of which Mr C. N. bacyertz had already been appointed judge.
