BREACHES OF AWARDS.

(Per United Pt.kss Association.) ASHBURTON, February 12. At the Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr V. 0. Dey, S.M., Hugh B. Bower claimed £2 from Theophilus Best for committing a breach of the Christclmrcb tailoring award in working for £1 17s 6d instead of £2 15s per week, as the award provides. Mr W. H. Haggar appeared for the department. The defendant was fined 10s. Bower also claimed £10 from C. Andrews arid Go. for a breach of the same award in employing two apprentices. The firm was further charged with a breach of the award in respect of Best, and a fine of 40s. without costs, was inflicted in each case.
