(Per United Pn>:ss Association.) W.ANOANUT, February 11. A fire occurred this afternoon in a sevenroomcd house in Glasgow street, occupied by Charles Marsh, and owned by Mrs Hackett. The fire was conlincd to the back portion, which was completely gutted. The furniture was insured in tlio Victorian ollice for £100, but it is not. known whether the house is insured. The origin of the lire is a mystery, but it is surmised trat it was causfd by a four-year-old child playing with matches. CHRISTCHURCJJ, February 11. The homestead at Glenroy, near GlcnIttnnel, a soven-roomed house, with dairy and store room, the property of Frank JBiatt, was burned down at midnight on Tuesday. Nothing was saved. The inmates (Mr and Mrs Hiatt and child) had a narrow escape.
