(Psr United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, February 10. Arthur Mylra, charged with breaking and. entering at Mercer, was to-day sentenced to' ono year's imprisonment. WELLINGTON, February 10. E. J. Searl, who bad been found guilty of perjury, oame up for tjonton.ee to-day. Counsel made- a strong plea, for probation, and Mr .Instico Coopor remanded the case until to-morrow, in order to consider 'the probation officer's report. OHIUSrCIIUROH, February lE. At tho Supremo Court Uxlay George Henry Barker was found guilty on five counts charging him with wilful exposure. He gave his ago as 25 years, - and the Crown Prosecutor stated l that all that was known about him was tliat ho had been in the distriot for only a few months. Mr Justice- Demiston, in sentencing him to 20 months' imprisonment, said that, the offence of which ho had been found guilty was the result to some extent of something in Uie nature of a disease, but a disease which rendered him a inenaoe to society. It was his Honor's duty to 6ee that tho prisoner was iockoo! up for some timo in the liepo that confinement) and wholesome- surroundings might effect) some change. The eiiminal sittings have dosed.
