PRISONER RECAPTURED.

(Pkp. United Press Association.) WANGANUI, February 10. Archibald M'Ncil. who escnwd from Terrace Gaol, Wellington, on* January 23, was captured this morning at Koriiiiti l_'a, 10 iiiilw up tho Wanganui River, by Constable Thompson. Ho was reported to have been seen at Wsingaclm, 13 miles from here, last, Thureday, and since then tho polico have- been on t-lie trail. He represented himself to a fanner near Wangamii as a relative from Australia, ard stayed there for a couple of days% being traced from there to Koriiiiti. Ho violently resisted arrest, and once got away from the constable, making for a horeo which he had saddled, and bridletl in east! of surprise. M*Neil, who is a powerful fellow, said ho had 'vainly tried to get. possession of a revolver, and if he bad one he would not have been captured. He had a razor and a pocketknife on him when aiTesied, and, vainly endeavoured to get at the razor when lie was struggling with the policeman.
