DUNKDIX NAVALS. On Saturday the Xavals fired the second match of tho second series, ranges 200 and 600 ranis, A and B Classes seven shots n H n, two optional sighter* at each range. C'Class seven shots and two sighters at 200 yards. Scores:-

PORT CHALMERS NAVALS. At their range on Saturday the Port Chalmers'Na.va.ls fired tlie first 'competition of a match for prizes presented by Captain Dodds and Mtb Stewart. Conditions: Three competitions, two to count, 10 shots at 200 and 700 yards. Some very good soeres wero registered at 200 varls,' but at 700, where the wind varied considerably, the scores were not so good. Appended are some of tho scores: —

* Not competing. DUNEDIN RIFLE CLUB. The Dunedin Rifle Club fired the second competition for Mr Proudfoot's prize on Saturday. Tho following are the highest scores; —

BATTALION STAFF SHIELD. On Thursday the Wmmato Rifle Volunteers, under the supervision of Captain' adjutant Fodcn (Tiniani), fired for the Battalion Staff Shield. This is the third year in succession this shield has been nred for, ha.ving been won previously by the Tiinaru Port Guards, who Ice,* the shield tin's year, being 103 points behind therecord score put on by the Waitnato Rifles, The match was tlie most exciting ever seen, on Hie Waimate range. The cool accuracy of the crack marksmen was something an eve-witncss could not help admiring. The score of 96.6 is said to be n record for a 12-nion team. The conditions were Raven shots at 200, 500. and 600 yards, with optional fiighfer at each range. Following are the scores: —
