The police received news this morning that a man named Mac Donald, supposed to be employed at the railway extension works, jumped out of the window of an hotel or acrommodation-house at Motueka Valley, picked up a piece of glass, and cut his throat. He was brought to town, and Dr Hudson thinks he may recover. The exact locality of the 'attempted snicid and further details are not yet known,
