SALE OF WORK.

HOLY INNOCENTS, WOODHAUGH. The Ladies' Guild of. Holy Innocents' Church, Woodhaugh, have for some time been making strenuous endeavours.to get a Sunday school built, and their .efforts have so far resulted in the realisation of 6ome £100 in cash. ' The ladies, however, do not wish that the Sunday school should start under a load of debt, and are still' continuing their efforts. Yesterday in the old Woodhaugh Hotel, Mr A. J. Butterfield (Mayor of Maori Hill) briefly declared open a compact sale of work which promises to add materially to the funds, The sale was a comparatively small one, but there was a great variety of usoful articles spread over the stalls, and business was as brisk as could be expected., In tho. even-' ing Stokes's Mandolin Band contributed, amongst others, to a good rnusioal, programme. A .piano was kindly lent by the Dresden Company. Following are tha stall-holders:— Fancy-work stall.—Mrs Nevill (president of the Ladies' Guild), Miss Cox (treasurer and secretary.) Refreshment stall.—Mesdamcs T. Gibson and D. Gibson. Bran-tub.—Hisses Goyen and Screen, Battery.—Mr Ford. ST.. CLAIR CONGREGATIONAL ' CHURCH. _ lii the St. Clair Congregational Sunday School last evening a highly successful sale of work was opened in aid of tho church funds. Tho cosy, little hall was prettily decorated, the various well-filled stalls being shown off to the best, advantage. The flower stall was especially pretty, being a veritable masn of magnificent blooms. Mr T. K. Sidoy, M.P., briefly declared the sale open, and business at 'the stalls at onco became very brisk, so that the church funds should benefit, considerably. An enjoyable musical programme, which included the following items, wits gone through:— Graphophone selections, Mr Omblin; piano solo, Miss May M'Kay; violin solo, Miss Forsyth; song. Mr J. Ewen; recitation, Miss White; piano solo, Mis s L. M'Kay. Misses May and L. M'Kay also rendered a pretty pianoforte duct. The following is a list, of the stallholder.,:— Guild stall—Mesdumes J. Kahlenbcrg, J. Jago, .1. R. Dick. Produce stall—Misses Smith and May Watson. Flower skill—Misse3 M'Dougall, Vera Taylor, Millie White, and Mr M'Dougall. Sweets stall—Miss Wilsoij,

Refreshment room—Mrs Miller, Misses L. M'Kay, G. Hancock, and Bible clas 3 boys. The sale will bo open this afternoon and evening.
