ANTARCTIC EXPLORATION.
PREPARINGJTHE NIMROD. ■ (PSX UkITED PIESS AB3OCIAnOSj . . OHRISTCHURCH, November 27. Work was resumed on the Nimrod this morning, and the ship's company are now busily engaged in clearing up work and getting the vessel ready for sea. Captain Evans informed a reporter this morning that on Monday the Nimrod will be removed from her berth at the breastwork near the Gladstone pier to a more convenient berth at the outer end of the east side of No. 3 wharf. From this berth tho vessel will cast off on Tuesday afternoon, and will be able to steam straight out through the moles without any preliminary manoeuvring. The vessel will sail from Lyttelton for the far south on the arrival of the 2.45 p.m. train from Christcliurch on Tuesday afternoon, which means that she will leave port at about 3.30 p.m. The Nimrod is now in deep trim, and her draught on sailing day will be about the same as when she left Lyttelton on New Year's Day. .'" -.
