NO PICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Dunedin City Council, held on tho eighteenth (18th) day of November, 1908, it was resolved by way of Special Order that tho City Council make a_ By-law under "Tho Municipal Corporations Act, 1900," and every other I/aw enabling the Comioil in that behalf, the subject and purport of which By-law are as follow: — Library to be opened to the public. Consulting of books in Reference Library. Boots not to be removed from Reference Library or Reading Rooms. Time for use of periodical or newspaper. Males not to sit at tables set apart for _ females. Children not admitted lo certain portions of Library unless accompanied' bv _ adult. Children under 14 years not to remain in Library after 8 p.m., except, with pcrx mission. • Conversing or reading aloud prohibited. No loitering allowed in llio passages, and no disturbance to be created in the building. Benches and chairs not to be used to lie. down upon, and no person to sleep or cause annoyance to readers. Visitors to leave parcels, etc., <n charge of officials, and no refreshments to lie partaken of in the Library. Persons intoxicated, uncleanly, or suffering from infectious or offensive disease not allowed to enter Library. Book's not to he marked, soiled, damaged, mutilated, or defaced.
