— On the Danish inland of Sjallarid there is an electric lighting system which is driven-by a windmill. The wheel is '46ft' in. 'diameter, and is supported bv a tower 43ft high. The area of the blades exposed to the. wind .is 340 square feet,, and with a wind blowing at the rate of 23ft a second tlio mill will give 8.6 horse-power. . The speed is then 24 revolutions a minute. Current is supplied to. 378 incandescent and six arc lamps, besidfta several email, motore.
