Tho scrutineers aro Mr Sibhald on behalf of Mr Thomson and Mr J. .S. Waito on behalf o£ Mr Barclay. Shortly before 10 o'clock last evening, when a halt was called, the recount had covered some 1600 votes out of total of '6771. The.scrutiny has revealed four instances of duplicato voting. Tho effect which this will have on tho result cannot bo mado known yet. - One absent voter's permit has como to hand, but lias not yet been opened. It is stated that an appeal will be lodged against the election of Mr W. H.
