REFLOATING OPERATIONS. PROSPECT OF SUCCESS. (Fboji Our Own Cobresfonpent.) GREYMOUTH, November 26, _ Last evening the workmen at the is„s. Kaitangata were knocked off at 10.30 o'clock ill order to tighten up the lines on the Huwea, which was moving considerably—a fact which is regarded as being n favourable portend. This morning the Terewhiti proceeded down stream early, bedug shortly afterwards joined 'by the Westland, Both tugs then oommenwd' pulling, while the ropes on shore were tightened, up. No- groatchange apparently took place, but it- was soon seen that tlie vessel was afloat fore and aft, being aground amidships. The Terewhiti was unable to go,alongside, but if the present favourable conditions continue till to-morrow it may bo possible for hor 1o do so. Operations will bo resumed to-morrow morning, and the authorities now seem hopeful. _ Some 70 men are employed by the Union Company at the work.
