PRESS COMMENT. ; i\"«3s Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, November 25. The Daily Mail ((.),) and the Standard (0.) suggest that Mr Asquith is secretly glad that his Licensing Bill is dead. Daily Chronicle ((f) and tho Daily News (G.) loudly protest against the Unionist peers' action, and revive Mr Lloyd-George's threats of high license duties. The Times urges Mr Asquith to withdraw bia confiscatory proposals, and to pursue a policy of moderation, as .111 education, and to adopt the minor regulative administrative provisions. The House of Lords then would willingly join in quickening the operation of Mr Balfour's act. The Westminster Gazette (G.) says that tlie Government must advance on the .alternative line of taxation, which will automatically reduce the number of publicbouses and secure the nation's rights in the liquor monopoly. lhe Pall Mall Gazette (0.) declares that the House of Lords stands as the champion of public opinion against a detested measure which the nominal r-epre-PSntativea of the United Kingdom are trying to force upon the community,
