To provide for' this pressing want the ladies connected with the association have organised a large sale of work and bazaar, which i 6 now being held in the Early Settlers' Hall. There arc in all seven most effectively .arranged stalls, and in addition an unusual, number and variety of side shows and other original' and ingenious devices for encouraging the circulation of coin. Yesterday afternoon and evening a large number of country visitors wcro present, and there was an ail of sociability and good fellowship about tho gathering which mado a visit to tho large hall most enjoyable. During tho evening aji oxcellent |;>rogramme of gramaphone selections was given by Mr T. iSegg, and the Misses Leyland contributed- a clever Sailor'r Hornpipe, which was greatly appreciated. A variety of amusing competitions, including hat-' trimming, -bed-making; nail-driving for lades, for men, and for boy 6, sawing and darning, added greatly to the pleasure and interest of the evening's proceedings. This afternoon special attractions are announced for the■ children, who.,will bo admitted to the'bazaar'free. The dainty stall under the ohai-ge of Missos Waiii and J. Mercer was erroneously referred to in yesterday's report as a "jumble and secondhand stall." As a matter of fact thoro have been no f>ccorid-hand gocds on tho stall. 1
