POLITICAL LABOUR LEAGUE.
o A special meeting of the league was "j eld last evening at the Trades Ha.11,. Mr E, R. IJouglas (president) in the chair. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Messrs Munro and Douglas, the respective candidates at the late general election for ( Dunedi|i West, and Dunedin South, for the gallant fight they had put up and for the ability displayed by these gentlemen in the contest;. Congratulations were tendered to Mr D. M'Larcn, if ho league's candidate, who was successful in Wellington East. It was dceidod to writo to Mr A. Fisher, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, expressing- the Political Labour League's satisfaction at Jn's accession to office, and trusting that the Labour parly in Australia would win further successes. Arrangements wore made for'a. social of the combined committees of Messrs Munro and Douglas during the recent contests, to bo held early in January.
